With only 3 months of preparation “from scratch” to build a dedicated vehicle, Quarkus took the start of the legendary Pikes Peak hill climb in 2024! A unique event for a unique car. A true challenge that brings together components specific to the brand: technical innovation, human adventure and the taste for challenge, carried out in record time.
Bruce Jouanny took the wheel of the Quarkus P3 for this participation in the 102nd edition of the race to the clouds, held in the United States on June 23, 2024.
With its 156 turns grouped into approximately twenty kilometers, an elevation gain of nearly 1,500 meters and a finish at an altitude of over 4,300 meters, Pikes Peak offers an unparalleled setting.
At the heart of the development of its road-going supercar, the French manufacturer decided to take on a motorsport legend, the second-oldest race in America, created in 1916. A natural choice: Ari Vatanen, who closely follows the Quarkus project, is one of the leading figures at Pikes Peak. The Finn won in 1988, setting the record at the time.
